WHAT IS SOIL RESETTING?
Between 2004 and 2009 Thatchtec developed, in collaboration with Wageningen UR, a new method for (biological) soil decontamination.
The method consists of putting of 100% vegetable-Herbie granules (or liquids) in the soil, followed by covering the soil with a plastic film for 3 to 4 weeks. Many tests, in the laboratory but also in practice, have shown that the soil is usually completely free from unpleasant diseases caused by harmful nematodes and fungi after this period.
The system has been applied in practice to tomatoes, peppers, seed multiplication, lettuce, summer flowers, strawberries and asparagus. Soil Resetting can be applied both in greenhouses and in outdoor crops.
Thatchtec has done three patent applications for Soil Resetting, of which the first already has been granted. Since its introduction in 2009, more than 50 farmers used the system.
